How To Groom Bull Terrier Puppies?

If you have bull terrier puppies or you are thinking to buy it and you do not have any idea how to maintain their look then a question arises in your mind that how to groom bull terrier puppies in an approved way. It is a playful dog and it is famous for its obedience and you will definitely want to groom such a loving dog.

Steps for grooming bull terrier puppy

There are different steps with the help of which you can groom your new bull terrier puppy. Bull terrier dog is a short flat coated and it sheds throughout the year so it is recommended to groom it after every 4–8 weeks intervals by cleaning its ears, eyes and by ensuring that the coat and skin of the puppy is healthy and clean.

Get your puppy relaxed

When you see that your dog is getting dirty and needs a little grooming then go for it? Wait for the right time when your dog is relaxed or you make it get relaxed by making it sit on your lap and by giving treats. When you see the dog is ready for the grooming then start it.

Collecting tools

Make sure you have collected all the things required for its cleaning and grooming so that you can easily reach them. In the start you may find it difficult to do this alone so take help of someone else.

Cleaning ears

Start with the cleaning of ears which is very important and should be done at least once in a month. It is recommended to avoid any kind of ear problem which might increase the need of vet in the future. Only clean the ears as far as you can see inside and do wear gloves while cleaning.


The bull terrier puppies also require baths. The first bath is the general bath in which you will clean the coat on its skin with a good quality soap or shampoo, it is better to take advice of a vet to select a bathing soap because the puppy’s skin is very sensitive. Second bath is the bath which you can give with some kind of medicated shampoo recommended by the doctor. This bath is good in case your bull terrier puppy has allergy or any skin problem.

Applying paw balm

When you are done with the shampoo bath then use paw balm for your sensitive puppy which is easily available in the market. It will keep the paws of your puppy soft and this balm will help to make the paws less likely to get dry or crack.

Hydrating spray for dandruff

When you are done with the application of paw balm and you see the coat is dry then spray the coat of your puppy with aloe hydrating spray to control the dandruff especially in case your puppy have dry condition.


To avoid the shedding there are shedding blades available in the market. This blade can help to pull out the dead coat. As the bull terrier puppies shed throughout the whole year, it will be better to do this after 4-5 weeks.
